Pauwel De Meyer - Having Fun

Singer-songwriters happily and often like to wring out their souls. Including Pauwel De Meyer from the Belgian city of Sint-Niklaas who also already cast out his demons with Sample Youth. In August he is releasing his own record under his own name. The much liked 'Hideaway' from 2013 is at last getting a real successor.

On Having Fun, his third solo record, Pauwel De Meyer is baring his soul again. In short and less short songs with simple cord schemes the melodic atmosphere and emotion play the biggest role. It also became a much richer record than his previous one with better developed arrangements and genre-crossing, more poppy songs.

In 2007, De Meyer was given the opportunity to record a Radio 1 Cucamonga session and the following summer was invited by Devendra Banhart to the Pukkelpop stage. In 2010, Pauwel toured through Europe with Banhart. He also boasts an impressive list of support acts, including Christopher Owens, Grant Heart, The Veils, Vetiver, Scott Matthew, Ian McCulloch, etc. at venues such as the Handelsbeurs, Trix and Vooruit.
