CD: € 13.50

Digital: € 9.68

Katleen Scheir is the lead singer of the folktrio The Golden Glows since 2005. They made new versions of 1920's music, prison songs and traditionals. They will be performing in AB Brussels this year with a magnificent tribute to The Anthology Of American Folk Music.

Border Guards is Katleen's solo debut album and it will be released by Starman Records on December 12th of this year. It has become a fantastic album in the style of Joni Mitchell, Alela Diane and Beth Gibbons. 12 very personal, emotional but hopeful songs that tell her personal story. Growing up in a disrupted family. Becoming a mature adult by learning from the highs and lows and a very emotional time coping with the debilitating disease of her mother who sadly passed away in 2016.

Border Guards was recorded at Sputnik studio with many of her personal friends and excellent musicians. Martine de Kok on piano and accordeon,  Lotte De Blieck on bas and Hans Dockx op drums. Also featuring Jon Birdsong on trumpet (Black Flower, Beck, Jan Swerts), guitar Geert Hellings (Guido Belcanto, Jim White), vocalist Nel Ponsaers (The Golden Glows, Stef Kamil Carlens), violin by Toon Dockx (And They Spoke in Anthems), cello by Charlotte Vavourakis, trombone by Maarten Scheir (Ambrassband) And the Italian Grammy-nominated harp player Fabrizio Poggi (Garth Hudson, Robert Plant, The Blind Boys of Alabama).
