Finally here it is: a new single by LeWis. Let The River Run was recorded in France and mixed in Liverpool. It is a very powerful tracks about loss, addiction, grief and friendship.

L e W i s (Louis De Roo) is a promising young Belgian songwriter and performer, who has added strength to his musical ambitions through his on going studies at the famous Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts established by Sir Paul McCartney. L e W i s was writing his first songs at the age of 11, busking on the road by the age of 17, searching for and finding an audience in the streets from London to Barcelona, Amsterdam to Rome, and even making the leap to Australia and Canada. He was taken under the wing of a former EMI UK manager at a young age, which resulted in his first album and a high score in the prestigious 2015 Image International final, where he walked away with multiple awards. After numerous national and international performances, he also participated in the Flemish version of The Voice and was selected as one of the most promising young artist by Belgian’s national radio station Studio Brussel’s and was guest of multiple other national radio stations such as BBC (UK), Radio 2 and Q Music (Belgium)  He was also the only Belgian to be selected at the end of August 2018 for the prestigious international Copenhagen Songwriter Festival.

His style is rooted in folk, indie rock, shoegazing, new wave, and dream pop: emotional lyrics that tell melancholy stories, going straight for the heart of his audiences, combined with classic songwriting and a contemporary sound with a great ear for details and adventure.

Electric, acoustic, solo, or with his Belgian/British band… L e W i s always puts his heart and soul into it, singing as if each note could be the last. Artistry is in his DNA; he had no other choice than to write, to share his stories with audiences everywhere.

His début single, ‘Mathilda’, was released by Starman Records on October 26th last year. The track was recorded in Liverpool with producer Tony Draper, who works with many aspiring British bands, like Blossoms and Rival Sons, and has been recognised for his work with the British charity band The Justice Collective, made up of, among others, Paul McCartney, Mick Jones (The Clash), Shane MacGowan (The Pogues), and Robbie Williams.
